Manchester United have scouted potential suitors as right-back alternatives.
According to The Athletic, the Red Devils have scouted Jeremie Frimpong of Bayer Leverkusen but are unlikely to oversee a permanent signing for the position in January.
The report also states that United held talks with Barcelona’s Sergino Dest in the summer before the American international opted to move to AC Milan on a season-long loan.
Erik ten Hag has quickly identified Diogo Dalot as his first choice at right-back, with previous managers preferring Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who was rumoured to leave the club this winter.
Wan-Bissaka likely to stay at United
Before the World Cup, the 25-year-old had made just one four-minute start all season but an injury to Dalot meant Wan-Bissaka was named in the starting lineup to face Burnley in the Carabao Cup last week.
He returned an assist and a dominant performance in defence, keeping a clean sheet throughout his time on the pitch. It is now unlikely he will depart Old Trafford in January.
