Everton monitoring Anthony Elanga for potential loan signing in January

Everton are interested in signing Manchester United’s Anthony Elanga on loan in January.

According to The Athletic, Everton’s “financial constraints” will likely force their hand on the loan market, as opposed to making permanent signings. Elanga has been identified as an option to bolster the Toffees’ attacking options.

Their lacklustre start to the season is cause for concern for Frank Lampard and he will know reinforcements in the winter are crucial if they want to stay in the Premier League.

Elanga has started six matches in all competitions for the Red Devils so far and has been substituted into eight games, returning just one assist. He is a product of United’s academy and has been at the club since 2014.

Elanga is already a valued first-team player

Unlike many other youth players at United, the 20-year-old progressed from the academy straight into the first team without completing any loan spells. He has looked like an exciting prospect in many appearances, though it is clear the youngster still needs time and experience to develop.

Whilst a loan spell may be beneficial, Elanga is getting regular game time at the club and provides more depth in the squad.
