Louis Saha sends warning to two French stars about potential Manchester United transfer

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has warned that players need to be wary about moving to Old Trafford, while speaking about young French duo Marcus Thuram and Randal Kolo Muani.

After losing the World Cup final against Argentina on Sunday, Didier Deschamps will look to pick up his players for the upcoming European Championship. The World Cup showed us that he has an incredible array of young talent brewing as it is.

Thuram and Muani were terrific for France in extra time after replacing Olivier Giroud and Ousmane Dembele earlier in the match. They both warranted their place in the France squad after impressing in the Bundesliga.

Thuram has 13 goals in 17 appearances for Borussia Monchengladbach, while Muani returned 8 goals in 22 matches for Eintracht Frankfurt, so the transfer links were always likely to follow after the pair performed well in the World Cup final.

Former France international Saha has question marks about them joining the Red Devils.

“Marcus Thuram and Randal Kolo Muani made a brilliant contribution to the game [against Argentina] in very difficult circumstances,” Saha told Paddy Power, as quoted by The Metro.

“They maintained their composure in crucial moments, and they are great players.

“At this moment in time, young player moving to Manchester United need to be cautious because we have sene some really good players struggle at United. I’m not saying they shouldn’t join because of that, but it’s a difficult time.

“It’s not enough to just be a good player or in good form. It’s all about how they can adapt, and the situation is not totally clear at the moment, so I don’t want to throw any names around.

“They [Thuram and Kolo Muani] are very good prospects and I hope they can see that Manchester United are growing, and Erik ten Hag is the right manager.”

Saha puts it nicely but I think he’s stressing that neither player is of the required standard for what United should be looking for as their continue to build under Ten Hag.
