Brazil’s bid for a sixth World Cup ended in tears this evening as Croatia booked their place in the semi-finals.
Manchester United forward Antony was spotted teary eyed after the penalty shootout, while Casemiro did all he could by scoring his spot kick. Fred came on during injury time as all three United players got minutes on the pitch.
I guess it’s good news for United to have Antony, Casemiro and Fred returning without any injuries. It also means that they should all be in contention to face Burnley in the League Cup later this month.
Croatia stunned favourites Brazil, winning 4-2 on penalties after the tie finished 1-1 at the end of extra time.
You can see from the photos below that Antony, Casemiro and Fred were all very disappointed after crashing out of the World Cup.

This will be good news for the other nations hoping to go all the way this winter because most pundits were tipping Brazil as favourites.
