Louis Saha names Man United player who is on the same level as Kylian Mbappe

The quarter-finals of the World Cup have now been confirmed and one of the biggest talking points has been England’s game against France later this week.

The two European powerhouses will face each other in a major international tournament for the first time in 10 years and all eyes will be on Kylian Mbappe, who has set the stage alight with his performances thus far.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward has scored five goals so far – more than any other player. Marcus Rashford is joint-second on the list with his three strikes. The in-form Manchester United winger has, however, started just one game for the Three Lions.

Ahead of the mouthwatering clash between England and France, former Reds hero Louis Saha, who also represented France, has claimed that Rashford is on Mbappe’s level when he’s firing.

“When Rashford has the eye of the tiger, he’s unplayable and at the same level as Mbappe. I love Harry Kane, but Rashford is just a humongous talent and I love to see him at this level,” Saha is quoted as saying by the Mirror.

“Kane is the best player, but Rashford is my favourite player in the England squad because of his style and I really enjoy watching him play. Rashford is more complete, but it does not mean he fits well in every game plan.”

It remains to be seen whether Rashford is recalled into the starting line-up by Gareth Southgate, who picked Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka ahead of him in their 3-0 win over Senegal.

SN’s verdict…
Rashford’s talent is undeniable and it’s extremely satisfying to see him realising that potential after a difficult 12 months prior to this season.

Under Ten Hag, Rashford looks revitalised and he’s taken his club form with him to Qatar. Hopefully, he will continue to deliver if he’s given the chance.
