Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra ‘liked’ an image on social media of ex-Liverpool striker Luis Suarez crying due to World Cup heartache.
Uruguay were knocked out of the World Cup despite beating Ghana 2-0 in their final group stage match, with Manchester United’s Facundo Pellistri starting on the right wing. But an injury-time goal from South Korea against Portugal meant Suarez and co were heading home early from Qatar.
It came as a hard blow to take for Suarez, who is likely to have played his last World Cup at the age of 35.
There was no sympathy from long-term rival Patrice Evra. The former Manchester United left-back ‘liked’ an image of Suarez shedding tears on social media, as seen below:

Back in 2011, Suarez racially abused Evra during a match between Liverpool and United. The ex-Liverpool man pleaded his innocence, but the FA found him guilty – only to give him a light slap on the wrist (eight game suspension, as well as a £40,000 fine).
United beat Liverpool 2-1 the following season and Evra celebrated right in front of the striker. It was a moment the Stretford End won’t forget.
I also enjoyed seeing tears shed from Suarez.
