A number of Manchester United players are enjoying stellar World Cup campaigns and all three of the Reds included in Gareth Southgate’s 26-man England squad have impressed.
Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire have started all three games for the Three Lions and now, Marcus Rashford has become the joint-top scorer following his breathtaking brace against Wales earlier this week.
That game was Rashford’s first start, having featured from the bench in the previous two fixtures. His first goal was a spectacular free-kick and speaking after the game, international team-mate Phil Foden has named him as ‘top three in the world’ at one thing – how the winger strikes the ball.
😁 "You can probably see by the smile on my face that I enjoyed every moment of it!"

“This guy, for sure is top three in the world the way he strikes the ball,” Foden told ITV, as seen above. “If he continues to hit the target, he’s going to score a lot of goals, for sure.”
Rashford is now in with a shout to start England’s huge round-of-16 game against Senegal on Monday. Provided the ranks stay the same, a goal against the African giants could mean that Rashford claims pole position to win the golden boot.
