Cristiano Ronaldo confirms reports he rejected £350m bid from Saudi Arabia

The full Cristiano Ronaldo interview with Piers Morgan has aired and everyone has been having their verdict on what he’s had to say about Manchester United, Erik ten Hag and former teammates as well as the current generation of youth players at the club.

It was so explosive that it might make Ronaldo even less appealing in the current transfer market. He talks about showing the utmost professionalism throughout his career, although at 37, there is no denying that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner comes with a lot of damage.

Ronaldo tried to fit as many criticisms of United he could into a 90-minute interview with Morgan on TalkTV and he could now be sacked by the club as a result.

In reflection, it was a vanity fair for the former Real Madrid man as it came across as very petty with unnecessary digs aimed at Wayne Rooney’s appearance as well as Gary Neville’s popularity.

He also wanted to make it clear that there was interest in his signature during the summer, when in hindsight, United should have really pushed for a sale.

Morgan spoke about reports that no-one wanted Ronaldo over the summer before mentioning a reported £350m bid from Saudi Arabia – to play there for two seasons. Ronaldo confirmed these reports saying they were ‘true’, despite coming from a media he questions 9 times out of 10.

“It’s true, I said no. But what the press keeping say – garbage… is that nobody wants me, which is completely wrong. But they continue to repeat that nobody wants Cristiano.”
