Erik ten Hag is not expecting an easy game against newly promoted Fulham on Sunday.

Manchester United will face Fulham on Sunday, November 13 in their final match before the World Cup kicks off. They will then return to action to take on Burnley in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, which will take place the week commencing December 19.

The players now have one final test before they switch to international mode, with several United players being called up to represent their national teams.

Fulham looked certain to take points off of Manchester City last week before a last-minute penalty kick was converted by Erling Haaland to make it 2-1 at the Etihad.

They are currently ninth-placed in the table and are joint on points with Liverpool after an impressive start to their return to the top flight.

United are hoping to bounce back from a lacklustre display at Villa Park on Sunday that ended 3-1 in Aston Villa’s favour.

Erik ten Hag weighs in on opponents

In a pre-match interview posted to the ManUtd.com, Ten Hag said: “That [Fulham] is going to be a really tough game. I think in the Premier League everything is very close, and what I have seen from Fulham so far is really energetic.

“They also play really decent football out from the back – I remember the game against Liverpool at the start of the season. So you have to be really good there to get a result. We have to do everything in our power to get the right result – that is what we’re preparing [for] now”
