France handed Raphael Varane injury boost ahead of World Cup

France have been handed a major boost after recent reports suggest Raphael Varane will soon return to training before joining up with Didier Deschamps’ squad for the World Cup.

That comes from a recent report via L’Equipe, who state that the defender is unlikely to feature in United’s two remaining games before the World Cup kicks off in Qatar.

Varane could join in with first team training at Carrington before departing for his next major tournament, although we are just assuming that he will still get selected by Deschamps despite injury fears.

The 29-year-old has been injured since last month when he tore his hamstring against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Despite initial fears that his World Cup dream was over before it even started, it now appears Varane is going to win his fitness race to help France defend their crown.

United’s first game back after the World Cup is against Nottingham Forest on 27 December.

We’ll be hoping Varane can enjoy the World Cup and return to United without any injuries or niggles.
