Real Sociedad manager Imanol Alguacil was satisfied with his players as they sealed top spot in Group E of the Europa League, despite losing their final game 1-0 against Manchester United.
Goal difference secured their place as group winners on a night United need to win by at least two goals.
The result means United will now face a last 16 play-off against one of the Champions League drop-outs, whereas La Real have already gone through with less fixtures to worry about.
Alguacil praised his players after the same, as per Marca, saying: “What this team is doing is outrageous, in the face of casualties and injuries.
“They’re competing like beasts. The only thing I ask of them is that we are proud of them, and I’ve been very proud of them for a long time.”
