Pep Guardiola breaks silence on Manchester United target Jude Bellingham

Pep Guardiola has dropped a big hint that he is a fan of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.

Manchester City take on Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League tomorrow night and Guardiola was asked for his thoughts on the 19-year-old midfielder, who is currently establishing himself as an England international.

“It’s not just quality… he has a special mentality. He’s already one of the captains, at 19 is quite impressive,” Guardiola told reporters, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

“It’s not just about the goals, the whole package is top. He’s already playing for England at 19. We know the quality he has.”

It is clear from these comments that Guardiola is a fan of Bellingham and could consider moving for the former Birmingham City starlet.

However, City will have to beat off competition from other top European clubs.

Manchester United and Liverpool have both been linked with a move for Bellingham, as per The Athletic.

For the Red Devils, it will depend on whether Bellingham fits into Ten Hag’s profile of a midfielder, but it sounds like Guardiola would have no problem making room for the English talent.

United spent over 100 days chasing Frenkie de Jong during the summer, although the Netherlands international remained at Barcelona amid ongoing speculation over a move to Chelsea.

The prospect of guaranteed minutes in the Premier League could prove to be a winner when Bellingham decides on his future. I can see him returning to England, but I have my doubts that it will be for United, despite previous interest.

  1. Who wouldn’t like a very good young player of Bellingham mold, there should not be anything like to deride any team.
At the end of the day, it’s gonna be the player’s choice.
    He can easily join ManUtd
