(Video) David Ornstein explains Ronaldo situation and discusses potential replacements for United

The Athletic’s David Ornstein was a special guest on The FIVE Insider this evening amid all the drama surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo and he revealed some new information on the Portuguese star’s future.

The respected journalist offers news on other topics such as Antonio Conte’s situation at Tottenham, as well as Wilfried Zaha’s Crystal Palace future.

Ronaldo was an unused substitute on Wednesday night when Manchester United beat Tottenham 2-0, but he stormed towards the tunnel on the 89th minute after refusing Erik ten Hag’s instructions to come off the bench.

The 37-year-old has been left out of the squad to face Chelsea this weekend.

Ornstein says we should expect some very important discussions to be had between the club, Ten Hag, Ronaldo, and Jorge Mendes about the player’s future because everyone knew he wanted to go in the summer.

Unfortunately, there was a lack of interest and it’s down to Mendes to find a suitor for Ronaldo in January, judging by what Ornstein has to say about the situation on The Five Insider.

I think we must agree with Ornstein when he says it would be best for all parties if Ronaldo left in January. It’s time to say goodbye.
