Preview: Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester United will be looking at getting back to winning ways when they take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

The Reds go into the game on the back of a disappointing 0-0 draw with Newcastle at Old Trafford on Sunday, whilst the visitors ran out 2-0 winners over Everton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last weekend.

Scott McTominay is set to return after serving a one match suspension AND Marcus Rashford is also likely to start after coming off the bench in the second half against Newcastle at the weekend.

After an upbeat past ten days or so, United couldn’t help but feel disappointed on Sunday. A draw at home against Newcastle may not be the worst result in the world, but with two golden chances missed in final few minutes, it felt like two points dropped and in doing so has cost United crucial points in the battle for a top four spot.

With Tottenham coming to Old Trafford on Wednesday night its pivotal United bounce back but it certainly won’t be easy.

Tottenham have enjoyed a successful season this far under Antonio Conte and currently find themselves sitting in 3rd place in the Premier League table. Spurs look the real deal under the Italian this season and in order for United to beat the North London side they will undoubtedly have to be at their very best.

The Reds have a great record against Spurs in the Premier League but it will be tough on Wednesday night. Spurs are on a good run and with Kane, Son and co all in fine goal scoring form its pivotal United keep them at bay should they wish to take all three points.

Last season this fixture turned out to be one of the games of the season with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a hat trick in a 3-2 win and you get the impression it will be another entertaining affair this time round. Both teams will fancy their chances of getting a result here and it wouldn’t not surprise me if this one ended up a draw.

Prediction: Manchester United 2-2 Tottenham Hotspur
