Manchester United are less than an hour away from kicking off their midweek showdown with Tottenham Hotspur, with Erik ten Hag looking to guide his side back to winning ways after their disappointing 0-0 draw with Newcastle.
Ten Hag made just one change from the team that failed to find a way past Newcastle, with Marcus Rashford replacing Cristiano Ronaldo to lead the attack.
Speaking before the game, in which he will be making his 501st appearance for United, De Gea has explained what Ten Hag wants from his players in this game.
“We always want to win, especially at home and play against a very good win. A draw after the last game, we have to go for the three points tonight,” De Gea said, according to BBC reporter Shamoon Hafez.

“He (Ten Hag) wants us to press Spurs high, they are a compact team but we have to try to have the ball, play quickly, make runs in behind and make chances,” the Spaniard added.
After dropping two points over the weekend, winning against Tottenham is paramount to United’s hopes of keeping up with the sides aiming to finish in the top four.
After this game, United face a trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea, who have been in inspired form since Graham Potter took over last month.
