Manchester United will face Newcastle United at Old Trafford on October 16.

The Reds are on the back of a 2-1 win against Everton and have picked up five wins out of eight games so far in the Premier League this season.

Eddie Howe’s side are also showing impressive form and have scored nine goals in their previous two matches. Newcastle are only one point behind United in the league table, so three points are a necessity for the Red Devils.

Injury news

The Magpies have been dealt a huge injury blow as summer signing Alexander Isak has been ruled out of the clash, after netting two goals in his first three appearances. Jonjo Shelvey will also be sidelined.

For United, Harry Maguire remains injured. Anthony Martial is in a race for fitness, whilst Raphael Varane has fortunately recovered from his sprain sustained at the Etihad and will be able to feature.

Predicted starting XI:

David de Gea; Diogo Dalot, Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw; Casemiro, Eriksen, Antony, Fernandes, Rashford, Ronaldo.

  1. What is Bruno still doing in the man united line up. If we say Fred and Mctominay are not that good enough then Bruno gets no near the line up. He is just a scam. Blinded everyone with his debut season. He is just a terrible player. Crosses are not accurate, passes are not accurate and shots are also not accurate. He is supposed to be a provider, how many assists does he have. Does virtually nothing to help the attack. The only positives about him, is representing the club in the tossing of coin and adding up to be 11players on the pitch which any other person can do.
