Omonia without first-choice goalkeeper for trip to Old Trafford

Omonia will be without their first-choice goalkeeper when they face Manchester United at Old Trafford on October 13 in their Europa League clash.

Fabiano put on an impressive display during last Thursday’s reverse fixture in Greece. United had eight shots on target and scored only three goals, with chances being tipped away exceptionally.

The Brazilian was also able to keep Cristiano Ronaldo at bay, who was on the quest to score his 700th career goal but was forced to wait until United’s match against Everton on October 9.

However, according to Simon Peach of Press Association, the goalkeeper will miss the tie.

Peach tweeted: “Neil Leonnon’s Omonia Nicosia are currently training at Old Trafford ahead of tomorrow’s Europa League match. Omonia are without injured goalkeeper Fabiano, who performed so well against #MUFC last week. Around 4,500 away fans will be in attendance.”

The Red Devils have also been dealt an injury blow themselves with Anthony Martial ruled out of the fixture after leaving the pitch early during United’s trip to Merseyside.

Club captain Harry Maguire is still sidelined, as well as Donny van de Beek and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
