Manchester United have sealed an important three points in the Europa League after they survived an early scare to come out of Thursday’s game against Omonia with all three points.

The hosts opened the scoring with roughly 10 minutes remaining of the first half despite United dominating proceedings throughout.

The setback forced two changes out of Erik ten Hag when the sides made their way back onto the pitch, with Marcus Rashford among those to come on.

The 24-year-old has enjoyed an impressive start to the season and he was at his brilliant best in Cyprus, scoring two goals in the second half.

Man United Player Ratings

David de Gea – 6
Had very little to do throughout and could do nothing for either of Omonia’s goals.

Diogo Dalot – 6
An alright performance from the Portuguese full-back.

Victor Lindelof – 5
Ten Hag will be praying that Raphael Varane returns to fitness as soon as possible.

Lisandro Martinez – 7
His importance to United in possession really shines through in games like these. Could have handled some situations in the defensive third better.

Tyrell Malacia – 4
Enduring somewhat of a tough spell now after the debacle at Manchester City. Again hooked at half-time after a blunder.

Casemiro – 7
Did what’s expected of a defensive midfielder, certainly adds composure to United’s build-up play.

Christian Eriksen – 7
Keeps things ticking over nicely, as we have grown accustomed to.

Antony – 7
A neat little player with bags of potential. The end product isn’t there yet, however. Should have scored in the first half but failed with an attempt to square it.

Bruno Fernandes – 5
Poor afternoon for the stand-in skipper but his position is not believed to be in danger despite being pulled off at a stage where United needed to score.

Jadon Sancho – 3
After a remarkably lackluster performance at Manchester City, this was another poor outing for Sancho. Played a part in Omonia’s opening goal.

Cristiano Ronaldo – 5
He tries and tries but that elusive goal from open play simply isn’t coming. His body language needs to improve as well.

Substitutions
Marcus Rashford – 10
You can’t really ask for more from a substitute. Introduced with United trailing and two goals and an assist later, Rashford almost singlehandedly made sure the Reds claimed all three points.

Luke Shaw – 6
Not as frantic as Malacia and perhaps that experience was needed at that stage of the game. Still feels like it’s Malacia’s position to lose.

Anthony Martial – 8
Scored with his first touch of the night, making it three goals and one assist in three appearances this season. Simply put, United look like a better team when Martial is in it.

Scott McTominay – N/A
A late introduction as Casemiro made way.
