Erik ten Hag confirms 22-man squad for trip to Omonia Nicosia

Erik ten Hag has confirmed his 22-man squad to travel to Cyprus for our next Europa League group-stage match away to Omonia Nicosia.

There is a place for loanee goalkeeper Martin Dubravka after returning from an injury he sustained on international duty, but Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane were both ruled out during Ten Hag’s pre-match press conference.

Cristiano Ronaldo will be hoping to get a start after being snubbed on the bench for the Manchester derby defeat at the weekend. The reporters decided to focus on this when they met Ten Hag this morning and the manager stressed that the 37-year-old is happy in training.

Other absentees include Donny van de Beek and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Two players that could do with minutes in the Europa League, but injuries continue to keep them out of action.

Manchester United travelling squad

Goalkeepers: De Gea, Heaton, Dubravka.

Defenders: Lindelof, Martinez, Malacia, Dalot, Shaw.

Midfielders: Fernandes, Eriksen, Fred, Casemiro, McTominay, Iqbal.

Forwards: Ronaldo, Martial, Rashford, Antony, Sancho, Pellistri, Elanga, Garnacho.

Kick-off against Omonia is scheduled for 17:45 on Thursday. We will be providing updates throughout the match with live text commentary.

Omonia Nicosia vs Manchester United verdict

The worst thing United could do against Omonia is underestimate their opponents. We’ve already lost a game in the Europa League and finishing runners-up in the group means we enter a play-off round before the knockouts really begin.

United need to get the business done and we have the players available to do that. Ten Hag’s side have a great chance to get back to winning ways and I think they will do exactly that.

I’m going for a 3-0 win for United.
