Confirmed Manchester United line-up vs FC Sheriff: Antony and Ronaldo start

Manchester United are in Moldova to take on FC Sheriff in the Europa League, with Erik ten Hag naming a strong line-up.

This will be the Reds’ final match of September, with Sunday’s scheduled Premier League encounter against Leeds United postponed, and an international break to follow.

Ten Hag will be keen to ensure his side bounce back from losing their opening match in the Europa League last week. A positive result is required here to get United’s European campaign up and running.

David de Gea retains his place in goal and will be hoping to add to his tally of clean sheets for the season. It would be his first in the Europa League this season, mind.

Diogo Dalot starts at right back, Raphael Varane slots in alongside Lisandro Martinez, with Tyrell Malacia at left-back.

We will see Scott McTominay anchor the midfield, alongside Christian Eriksen with Bruno Fernandes given a license to roam into advanced positions.

Antony starts on the right, with Jadon Sancho on the opposite flank and Cristiano Ronaldo through the middle.

Manchester United: De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Malacia; McTominay, Eriksen; Antony, Fernandes, Sancho; Ronaldo.

Bench: Heaton, Vitek, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Casemiro, Fred, Iqbal, Elanga, Garnacho, McNeill.
