Erik ten Hag had Cristiano Ronaldo laughing at training today before the squad set off on their travels.
The Manchester United squad and coaching staff arrived in Moldova this evening ahead of a press conference and Thursday’s Europa League clash against FC Sheriff.

Prior to the flight, the players trained at Carrington and several were absent including Marcus Rashford, Donny van de Beek and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Ronaldo can be seen in the video below enjoying himself following a brief conversation with Ten Hag.

Ten Hag calls the 37-year-old over, did a heading gesture and cracked a joke. Ronaldo nodded before breaking into a beaming smile.
It doesn’t look like there has been a breakdown in communication between the pair, despite the fact Ronaldo is having to get used to playing a bit-part role in the team.
That could also change with the amount of fixtures coming up after the international break.
