Manchester United close to agreeing Antony deal

Manchester United are on the verge of signing Ajax winger Antony.

Erik ten Hag has been desperate to add to his attacking options this and it sounds like he has finally managed to do just that.

A Dutch reporter we can’t claim to know anything about tweeted that Antony has left Ajsx earlier today.

Gerjan Hamstelaar tweeted: “Antony is gone.”

Meanwhile, Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth adds that United are ‘close to agreeing’ a deal for Antony. The fee is thought to be worth €100m including add-ons and the winger wasn’t in Ajax’s squad for the game at Utrecht this weekend.

Sheth adds that a move is expected to accelerate in the next 24-48 hours.

The Athletic are running the same story.

Manchester United had a hefty offer rejected by Ajax earlier this week, but it is believed that they will continue to work on a deal until they reach an agreement with Ajax.

Antony set to leave Ajax

Reports now suggest Ajax are in the process of signing a replacement.

Ajax are considering a move for Aston Villa’s Anwar El Ghazi, as per The Mirror, after they tried to get a deal done to bring Hakim Ziyech back from Chelsea.

Antony has until Thursday to complete his switch to United.
