(Video) Casemiro admits he wants Ronaldo to stay at Manchester United

Casemiro has become the man tasked with rescuing Manchester United’s faltering midfield and the Brazilian said his goodbyes at Real Madrid on Monday morning before travelling to Manchester.

The 30-year-old will be unveiled as United’s latest signing on the Old Trafford pitch before kick-off against Liverpool despite the deal not being formally completed yet.

Speaking in his final press conference at Real Madrid, Casemiro was quizzed on speculation surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at United.

The pair shared a dressing room for six years at the Spanish giants and now, Casemiro has admitted that he wants Ronaldo to commit his future to the Reds, as seen below.

“I haven’t spoken with Cristiano but I’m really looking forward to playing with him,” the five-time Champions League winner said.

“He knows what I think about him, about his place in the history of football. I hope to work with him a lot. I hope he will stay at the club because he is one of the best players of all time and I have lived many great years with him.

“I’m looking forward to working with him and all my teammates at Manchester United.”

With just over a week remaining of the transfer window, there is little clarity on whether Ronaldo see out the final year of his contract after a long summer of rumours.
