Paris Saint-Germain make move for Marcus Rashford

Paris Saint-Germain have held a longstanding interest in Marcus Rashford and the winger’s future at Manchester United is far from certain after a difficult 18 months.

Rashford has just one year remaining on his contract plus the option of an additional year but talks over a new deal are not believed to be taking place, fuelling suggestions of a potential exit.

Now, leading French outlet L’Equipe, via Sport Witness, are reporting that Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the Englishman to bolster their frontline, with talks already held with Rashford’s representatives.

As per the report, talks are moving positively and the player was already being followed previously – prior to this summer’s overhaul of their club’s structure.

It’s claimed that the French giants are in a favourable position and could offer the 24-year-old a chance to resurrect his career, with the opportunity to play in the Champions League also cited.

SN’s verdict…
As mentioned by Stretty News editor Dale O’Donnell above, the Parisians’ interest is hardly surprising. After all, Rashford has scored in all but one of his appearances against them.

But ultimately, an exit for Rashford this summer is highly unlikely. United are incredibly light in that area of the pitch and no reinforcements have been signed. Even if the club did sign a winger between now and the end of the window, they would see that as crucial depth rather than a replacement for anyone.

Rashford has also enjoyed a promising pre-season under Ten Hag and the Dutchman has shown no signs of not wanting to play him.

His future is far from decided but this summer, he will be staying put.
