Chicharito offers to play for Manchester United for free

Former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez claims he would return to play at Old Trafford for free.

The 34-year-old Mexican striker, who won two Premier League titles during a five-year spell in England, insists he still holds United close to his heart.

Hernandez, also known has Chicharito, arrived at United as a gem from Guadalajara in 2010. He was known by football fans around Mexico for his ability to score goals, but in Europe we didn’t know anything about him.

Then, suddenly, Hernandez became a huge hit with the fans.

The LA Galaxy veteran admits he has not been surprised by the club’s recent struggles following the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Hernandez saw first-hand how United dealt with Ferguson’s departure and the aftermath has been far from pretty. Now, it’s a matter of hoping Erik ten Hag can provide the answers in the future.

Chicharito says he would play for United for free

Hernandez is not on the verge of leaving LA Galaxy, but he has offered to play for United for free – should we come calling at any point in the future.

He told reporters, as quoted by The Sun: “If United came for me then I’d say ‘yes, I’ll play for free.’ Of course, you know, I’d do that.

“But I also want to be very respectful to my club. I am playing very consistently and in my mind my conviction is all about winning a championship with LA Galaxy.

“In the future, if things happen then they happen – but in my mind I am 100 per cent with LA.”

LA Galaxy may want to renegotiate their contract with Hernandez since he has become so generous. 😂
