United refuse to slap transfer fee on Ronaldo’s head with live offer waiting

Manchester United have hardened their stance on Cristiano Ronaldo’s future, according to reports.

According to The Sun, Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes told United chiefs he had a live offer, but the club must reveal their asking price to get the deal done.

It is suggested that there was also a proposal from Ronaldo’s behalf to simply release him on a free transfer because of his apparent “loyalty” to the club.

United refused to slap a price on the player’s head and baulked at the idea of letting him leave on a Bosman.

They must have the wrong person for showing loyalty to United…

Is this the same Ronaldo who described himself as a slave during his time at Old Trafford, as per The Guardian? The same Ronaldo that decides to try force an exit just one year into his contract due to throwing his toys out of the pram after the team failed to qualify for the Champions League?

I’ll have whatever Mendes is having.

Let us know in the comments section what you think United should do with Ronaldo this summer.

SN’s verdict

We are running out of time to prepare for next season without Ronaldo.

On another note, Ten Hag shouldn’t let this situation boil over because he risks upsetting the dressing room.

I don’t see the benefit of having Ronaldo around next season if he is trying to force a move away.

The timing of his request, however, raises a lot of questions and I think he is tarnishing his legacy at the club.

  1. Manchester United should purchase Anthony or the liepzig striker, and savic in the midfield..,then they should let Ronaldo go.
As for de jong if he doesn’t feel like coming to Manchester United then he shouldn’t be forced.

  2. Put him on the bench for all Premier League games, but start him in the Europa League, if he refuses to comply, throw him in the reserves .

  3. He Ronaldo can’t even be considered loyal. He betrayed the club twice asking to leave. A loyal player or a legend should be together during ups and downs. Just let him leave, never keep or sign players who are not committed.

  4. Why does CR believe he deserves to play CL football next year. No question he is one of the best individual players. But the last I looked football is a team sport, and the team he played for didn’t qualify, as part of that team, which by the way consisted of mostly world class players, he didn’t qualify for CL football next year.
He has a contract to play for MU next year, if he is the MU player he claims to be he would be working with his team mates and the new manager to ensure the next season is a success. Not happening, and I for one have lost all respect for him.

  5. Loyalty ? Put a price tag on him £30million get him out the door and move on ,the club does not need players who are going to disrupt the squad, as good a player Ronaldo is utd cannot allow him to dictate any terms. No player is bigger than the club we supporters want utd to be successful we have to move on, a new manager a new beginning. The money received should be spent for sure either on the midfield which is priority or a top defender.
