(Video) Perry Groves questions whether Ten Hag wants Ronaldo at United

Former Arsenal midfielder Perry Groves believes Erik ten Hag doesn’t want Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United amid constant speculation over the player’s future.

For starters, I don’t know where Groves has got that opinion from since Ten Hag has publicly stated he wants to work with Ronaldo next season, time and time again.

These snippets from UK based radio stations will continue while doubt hangs over Ronaldo’s future.

We know that managers can say things to the media and mean the complete opposite. However, with Ten Hag and Ronaldo, I honestly believe the Dutchman when he says he has been looking forward to working with the 37-year-old goalscorer.

Groves isn’t convinced and says he wouldn’t have Ronaldo near this United squad.

“I wouldn’t have Cristiano Ronaldo near this Man United squad,” Groves told talkSPORT.

“Ten Hag wants to press and work hardoff the ball, Ronaldo doesn’t fit in that.”

Yes, the same Ronaldo that topped the goalscoring charts for United last season. The same player who showed he was willing to press under Ralf Rangnick.
