Manchester United are closing in on their second signing of the transfer market after already announcing the arrival of Tyrell Malacia.
Lisandro Martinez has already told Ajax that he wants to join Manchester United.
That’s according to Dutch outlet De Telegraaf, as cited by the Daily Star, with claims the Eredivisie champions would prefer an agreement that sees them receive a guaranteed sum rather than add-ons.
Ajax’s stance comes as Erik ten Hag looks to sign some of the players he worked with in Amsterdam.
In a new update, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano claims United will meet with Ajax on Wednesday to discuss Martinez’s future as negotiations reach key stages.

Romano explains: “Last proposal was turned down but Ajax are finally open to sell Lisandro at their conditions. Player pushing as he wants PL move soon.”
The Italian journalist doesn’t rule out a move for Arsenal, who have rivalled United’s bids for the Argentine centre-back, but he doesn’t mention the London club in his latest update which could be telling.

It sounds like the reports coming from the Netherlands are right and United now have a clear run at Martinez.
I would be shocked if this deal wasn’t completed by the end of the week but there is no denying that United have been slow on the transfer front this summer.
