Dean Henderson happy to be joining Nottingham Forest on loan

Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson has done a short interview after completing his loan move to Nottingham Forest following Saturday’s announcement.

Henderson will jump from being second choice at Old Trafford to first choice at The City Ground.

It will be great to see him back in the Premier League showing what he can do on a regular basis.

In turn, new manager Erik ten Hag has a year to assess his goalkeeping situation at the club because it will be more clear next summer if he wants to keep David de Gea as his no.1.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining such a fantastic club with an amazing set of fans and a wonderful history,” Henderson told Nottingham Forest’s club media after completing his loan move.

“I want to thank the manager and owners at Nottingham Forest for the great opportunity to play for this club in their first season back in the Premier League.

“I’m really excited to work with everyone at the club from the manager, players and goalkeeper coach Danny Alcock.

“Finally, just a massive thank you to the fans for the welcome I have received and I can’t wait to celebrate some brilliant moments together this coming season.”

Hats off to Forest for quickly securing a keeper who will give them the best chance of staying up in the Premier League.

I still hope Henderson can develop into a keeper that can be one our first choice one day.

Right now, he still has a lot to prove but spending another year on the bench would have been a real waste in terms of the player’s development.
