Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown thinks Erik ten Hag’s appointment is good news for the academy players at the club.
After producing several world-class players as Ajax manager in recent years, United fans will hope Ten Hag can do the same at Old Trafford.
Speaking on MUTV, Brown said: “The youngsters are going to get the chance. They will be the ones that come back early. I think the good thing as well [is that] the manager, he’s probably going to give them a chance.
“At Ajax, Erik ten Hag was known historically for playing youth players, bringing youth in. I’m pretty sure he will understand that and he’ll want to see what they’re like in the jersey. He’ll want to see what they’re like under pressure.
“What he thinks is that they might be able to do in a team like he’s trying to produce. He’ll definitely give them a chance on tour, because we’re going to have to use quite a few of them because people will be coming back late.”
We expect to see chances given to Alvaro Fernandez, Alejandro Garnacho, Charlie Savage, Zidane Iqbal, Ethan Galbraith, Charlie Wellens and Dylan Levitt on tour this summer.
