Fabrizio Romano confirms when Man Utd target will make decision on future

Manchester United are set for a busy couple of weeks, with pre-season starting next week and the club’s first arrivals expected to follow as Erik ten Hag aims to shape his new squad.

Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong is Ten Hag’s number one target and according to reports, an agreement with Barcelona over a transfer fee is getting close.

United have other midfielder targets as well, however, with Christian Eriksen believed to be one of the players of interest to the new-look United staff.

The 30-year-old is a free agent and earlier this month, it was revealed that the Old Trafford club had made a proposal to sign him this summer.

Initially, some were led to believe that it was one or the other but it quickly emerged that United were planning on signing both Eriksen and De Jong in a bid to revamp the midfield.

Journalist and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has now provided an update on the situation, revealing that Eriksen is edging closer to a final decision on his future.

As per the report, Eriksen’s decision is now getting closer and he’s going to communicate that with his agent as early as in the next days and possibly even hours.

It has already been established that United are one of the proposals on the table for the former Tottenham and Inter star but Brentford are said to hold out hope of retaining him.
