Report in Spain suggests Jorge Mendes made Ronaldo proposal to Juventus

Even though Cristiano Ronaldo has made it clear publicly that he will be playing for Manchester United next season, we still get reports throughout the continent about the 37-year-old leaving Old Trafford this summer.

The Portuguese ace signed a two-year deal upon his return to United last summer and will soon return to the club for pre-season training under Erik ten Hag.

However, reports in Spain suggest Ronaldo is unhappy again and that will always be enough for the mainstream media to suggest a transfer is on the cards.

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, his agent Jorge Mendes has submitted a proposal to Juventus regarding a potential return to Juventus.

Juve are linked with a move for Neymar in the same article!

We are immediately putting this into the unlikely category because no matter what – every summer – you are guaranteed a transfer rumour or two on Ronaldo.

Imagine getting rid of Paul Pogba to only follow him back to Turin? Ronaldo should count himself lucky.

SN’s verdict

I would be shocked if the new Premier League season starts and Ronaldo isn’t a Manchester United player.

At the same time, 12 months on from now, I would be equally shocked if he is still at the club.

Maybe Mendes is trying to get the ball moving for future move because Ronaldo is part of Ten Hag’s plans next season.

Let’s hope we can get back to winning trophies.
