Three La Liga clubs eye move for free agent Edinson Cavani

According to reports in Spain, Edinson Cavani has interest from three Spanish clubs.

The Uruguayan striker joined United two years ago and earned a contract extension last year, but it was always seen as his last hurray at the club, although he hardly featured in his final season.

Cavani has already sent a departing message to United fans ahead of his exit.

Now the 35-year-old could be heading to Spain which will probably be his final move across Europe should Cavani plan to retire in South America.

Fichajes claim that Real Sociedad, Real Betis and Villarreal are all interested in signing Cavani on a free transfer this summer.

La Real have a number of former Premier League players as it is and they signed another veteran from the top-flight last season, with David Silva playing a huge role in Imanol Alguacil’s side finishing sixth in La Liga.

Among Cavani’s options could be Villarreal, too. He might fancy that after seeing them reach the Champions League semi-finals this term.

Meanwhile, Real Betis won the Copa del Ray.
