Anthony Martial will return to Manchester United, says Sevilla president

Sevilla have no intention to sign Anthony Martial.

The Frenchman was struggling for form at Manchester United during the first half of the season, and it was thought that a move to Spain could help rejuvenate his career.

Instead his issues have merely continued.

Sevilla president, Jose Castro, has confirmed that Sevilla would not be looking to make his move a permanent switch.

“Anthony Martial will return to Man Utd,” Castro said, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News.

“We spent important money on him but it didn’t work.

“Also, he had injuries and we’re not going to buy him on a permanent deal.”

Castro is straight to the point with his comments on Martial.

It didn’t work out and Sevilla’s season went downhill after his January arrival.

When Martial signed for the La Liga outfit, they were on course to challenge for the title, but results worsened over time and he failed to deliver.

This presents a dilemma to United because in an ideal world we would cash in right now, but it becomes difficult when interest drops in a player you are trying to sell.

It remains to be seen if Erik ten Hag will have the space for Martial next season, with United already seeking alternatives in attack.

Let us know in the comments if you think Martial will be sold in the summer?

  1. With so many braindead players at Utd, selling Martial would be a dumb move. He’s 1 of a very few who is intelligent on the ball, the only one comfortable in tight spaces and the only 1 who can dribble with men close up to him.
