It was 24 years ago today when Manchester United sealed a Double Double with a victory over Liverpool in the 1996 FA Cup final.

The game itself wasn’t a great spectacle but that didn’t stop the United fans celebrating late into the night.

With four minutes remaining, David James’ punched clearance fell to the King, who was stood on the edge of the penalty area. Eric Cantona readjusted his balance before crashing a half-volley into the back of the net and past a crowd of five defenders.

United’s kids sunk Liverpool’s ‘Spice Boys’.

What a strike!
