Erik ten Hag is planning to give Donny van de Beek a chance at Manchester United this summer when he takes his new side on pre-season tour.

Van de Beek’s future at Old Trafford looked uncertain right up until the recent managerial appointment.

The Telegraph has described Ten Hag’s arrival as a lifeline for the midfielder.

However, the Netherlands international failed to impress Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick.

It soon became clear that he was not suited to their preferred styles of football, though will be interesting to see what happens when Ten Hag starts work because Van de Beek is familiar with his style.

In order to reboot his career, Van de Beek was sent on loan to Everton in January. He had no shortage of suitors following interest from Newcastle United., but it was reported at the time that he didn’t fancy a relegation battle.

Van de Beek picked Everton over Crystal Palace to work under Frank Lampard, but they currently find themselves in the drop zone.

He has made just six appearances since joining the Goodison Park club on loan and has yet to contribute a single goal.
