Player Ratings: Liverpool 4-0 Manchester United – Spineless Reds fall as expected at Anfield

I don’t remember going into a game against Liverpool and accepting that we are going to get beat. Not just beat but hammered.

Liverpool have scored 9 goals and conceded none against us this season – destroying us home and away in the Premier League on their quest to win a second title in two years. The three points tonight puts them in the driving seat, although having played a one more game than Manchester City.

In both performances, United were utterly spineless. They disgraced the shirt again tonight and deserve all the criticism they will get.

We don’t want apologies on social media.

David de Gea – 4

Stuck to his line for Liverpool’s opening goal. Didn’t help that United defended abysmally.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 2

Horrific display.

Harry Maguire – 2

Not good enough again from Maguire. At fault for more than one goal. Captain not so fantastic.

Victor Lindelof – 3

Scrappy performance.

Phil Jones – 3

Hasn’t played in months. Thrown in at the deep end at it showed.

Diogo Dalot – 2

I don’t think we have a decent full-back at the club. Awful again from Dalot.

Nemanja Matic – 3

Lost the battle in midfield.

Paul Pogba – 0

Big mistake starting Pogba. Hope he never plays for the club again.

Bruno Fernandes – 2

Another no show from the Portuguese playmaker. Guilty of being a passenger tonight.

Anthony Elanga – 2

No impact on the game after starting in a front two.

Marcus Rashford – 2

Another night Rashford will want to forget.

Subs

Jesse Lingard – 5

Showed a bit of fight at least.

Jadon Sancho — 5

Had a chance to score and created an opening for Rashford.

Hannibal Mejbri – 6

Gave the ball away cheaply just after coming on. It led to Liverpool’s fourth goal. Still deserves the highest rating of the lot because he showed that he actually cares and put the boot in.
