Manchester United transfer target set for new Inter Milan deal

Milan Skriniar looks set to sign a new deal at Inter Milan.

The Slovak defender was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United when Jose Mourinho was in charge, but it would not surprise us if Erik ten Hag wanted to strengthen his defence in the summer transfer window.

Then again, maybe he won’t as United need to prioritise other positions like midfield and the goalscoring department.

Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport recently linked both United and Tottenham Hotspur with a move for the centre-back.

However, according to Fichajes, Skriniar is likely to sign a new contract at Inter Milan until 2026, amid interest from Premier League clubs.

It feels like it has been years since United were linked with Skriniar – but he’s only 26 and performed at a high level for Inter in the Champions League this season.

It is believed that the offer from Inter will see his salary jump from €3m-per-year, to close to €5m.

Let us know in the comments if you think this is another missing opportunity by United.
