Edinson Cavani sustains calf injury during Uruguay’s win over Chile

Edinson Cavani injured his right calf just 29 minutes into Uruguay’s 2-0 win over Chile in the World Cup qualifiers.

The Manchester United striker was then replaced by Luis Suarez, who scored his country’s opener in the game.

Cavani seems to get injured every time he plays for Uruguay and he’s rarely been available for United this season. This will likely mean more time on the sidelines, with his stint at Old Trafford coming to an end soon.

The striker has only played 16 times this season for United in all competitions.

The former PSG striker was in pain as he sat down on the turf. He was assisted by the medical staff before being forced to leave the action.

According to the Daily Mail, Cavani could miss at least one game for the Red Devils. That game is against Leicester City on April 2.

If the injury is worse than first feared, Cavani will be out for a longer period.

We are sure that Cavani will be properly assessed by United later this week.
