Manchester United appears close to appointing a new permanent manager and former defender Gary Neville reckons an official announcement will come sooner rather than later.
Several candidates have been heavily linked with succeeding interim boss Ralf Rangnick, with the likes of Paris-Saint Germain’s Mauricio Pochettino and Ajax’s Erik ten Hag frontrunners.
Stretty News understands that out of the pair, it is ten Hag who is closest to getting the job after an interview took place in London last week.

Reacting to reports that a decision is edging closer, club legend Neville took to Twitter on Wednesday morning to give his thoughts on the intriguing saga.

Speaking to his 5m followers, the former full-back revealed he is expecting a formal announcement to come from the Red Devils ‘within a week or so’.
Reports Ten Hag has been interviewed this week . If formal interviews have started and with it being such a public process I would expect a new manager announcement within a week or so.
Who do United fans want ?

United do not play another competitive fixture until April 2 when they host Leicester City in the Premier League.
If Neville’s prediction proves accurate, the United faithful will know who their next permanent manager is before the Foxes arrive at Old Trafford.
Let Erick Ten Hag be announced as soon as possible. Pochettino should go and manage divisional teams.
