This seems like an opinion rather than actual transfer news.
Spanish outlet Fichajes claim Harry Maguire is one of five players that Manchester United are prepared to sell this summer, which would be considered good news to a vast majority of fans.
The list also includes David de Gea, Marcus Rashford, Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani.
However, Maguire is having arguably the worst season of his career to date and there will be question marks in the summer over whether the next manager should keep the England international as club captain.
Whoever replaces Ralf Rangnick in the dugout must decide on a centre-back pairing to take United to the next level and I’m sure Maguire can be part of that process, unless his form significantly improves.
The report states: “The team captain is not having the best moment professionally, and his time at United may be over. The English club already showed interest in Rudiger a couple of months ago, and it seems like they have Borussia Dortmund central defender Manuel Akanji tied up.”
It is a stretch to say that United already have Akanji tied up. The Dortmund defender is just one of the names being heavily linked with a summer move to Old Trafford, just like Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo.
