Ultimately, it was a night to forget for Alexis Sanchez as Inter Milan crashed out of the Champions League.
The Italian side went into tonight’s last-16 second leg tie against Liverpool, trailing by two goals on aggregate, and won 1-0 on the night but sadly it wasn’t enough to see them knock the Scousers out of Europe.
Inter Milan manager Filippo Inzaghi made some alterations to his starting line-up that faced Liverpool in the first leg, with Sanchez starting up front. The former Manchester United attacker played well for the most part – right up until his red card!
Whether or not Sanchez deserved a booking for his second yellow is up for argument, but he was lucky not to be sent off for his first carded offence on Thiago Alcantara, which left the Brazilian in a heap on the turf.

We didn’t see enough of these tackles from Sanchez during his United days.
The current United crop of United players left Liverpool walk all over them earlier this season, losing 5-0 at Old Trafford, and none of them left the stadium with as much as a scratch.
