Manchester United players want Mauricio Pochettino as next manager

Manchester United are planning to appoint a new manager at the end of the season, with Ralf Rangnick serving the club as interim manager until then.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Mauricio Pochettino has the support of the United dressing room already, with his position at PSG under threat if the Ligue 1 leaders crash out of the Champions League round-of-16 against Real Madrid.

The Argentine is believed to be the most popular pick among the players and the club is understood to be confident of hiring Pochettino due to his long-standing interest in the job.

It is also suggested that the former Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton manager is still in contact with United left-back Luke Shaw, who he had as a youngster at St. Mary’s, while the other players would’ve been impressed by his previous work in the Premier League.

Pochettino left England with an incredible record and many tipped that he would be back one day to manage United. I guarantee you there are plenty of Tottenham fans who would take him back in a heartbeat, too.

It would be a strong appointment but most of the online polls suggest that United fans want Ajax coach Erik ten Hag to replace Rangnick.

Only time will tell.
