(Video) Manchester United paper talk – Pochettino favoured, youths win, BVB defender on Rangnick’s radar

Jay from Stretford Paddock was stood outside Old Trafford this morning to run through the latest stories surrounding the club.

The biggest headline this morning stems from the Manchester United players wanting Mauricio Pochettino to take charge in the summer. That won’t please the supporters out there — like Jay — who want Erik ten Hag to replace Ralf Rangnick at the end of the season, but there is still plenty of time for twists and turns in this story.

Meanwhile, the U18s knocked Everton out of the FA Youth Cup with a convicting 4-1 win over the Toffees last night at Old Trafford. Alejandro Garnacho scored a beautiful solo goal in stoppage time after running 70 yards up the pitch before cutting inside to finish.

Reports suggest Rangnick has recommended a Bundesliga centre-back to chiefs at United. Although Borussia Dortmund have defended poorly this season, apparently the interim boss likes the look of Manuel Akanji, who is a Switzerland international.

And, finally, a mention for James Garner who scored another goal for Nottingham Forest last night. This time it was a cool finish inside the box against Blackburn Rovers after some terrific wing play from a team-mate. You can tell by how Jay speaks in the video below that we are all buzzing to see him back at United next season.
