Confirmed Manchester United XI vs Boro: Pogba returns to midfield

Nineteen points off top spot in the Premier League, you can tell that Manchester United fans are desperate for a cup run and to win some silverware. That’s unlikely to happen in the Champions League (who knows?), but the Reds have an almighty chance at reaching the next round of the FA Cup today.

Middlesbrough travel to Old Trafford for the fourth-round tie on Friday night. We have every reason to believe that the recent 1-0 win over West Ham will give the lads some confidence, though, for what’s left of the season.

Ahead of the game, Ralf Rangnick has confirmed his starting eleven to face Boro. He knows that they must win at all cost and has named a strong line-up, with Dean Henderson in goal. Diogo Dalot starts at right back with Luke Shaw on the opposite flank, while Harry Maguire takes the armband alongside Raphael Varane in the heart of defence.

Scott McTominay will sit in the middle of the park along with Paul Pogba, who returns after two months out, and Bruno Fernandes. That leaves Marcus Rashford, Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho to lead the line.

The United players will be wearing special black armbands tonight in remembrance of those who we lost during the Munich Air Disaster.
