Manchester United will be looking at getting back to winning ways when they take on Brentford at the Brentford Community Stadium in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

The Reds go into the game on the back of a disappointing 2-2 draw with Aston Villa at the weekend whilst the hosts were defeated 3-0 by Liverpool.

Duo Luke Shaw and Scott Mctominay are both back from suspension, while Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to return the stating eleven to face Brentford having missed the Reds last few games through injury.

Having thrown away a two goal lead at Villa Park on Saturday night, the Reds will be desperate to put things right when they take on Brentford. Already five points behind West Ham in fourth place we cannot afford to drop any more points should they wish to finish in the Champions League places and in facing Brentford it provides United a chance to put Saturday’s disappointment behind us.

Brentford have enjoyed a bright start to life in the Premier League this season and currently sit in 14th position in the table.  Their positive attacking attitude and willingness to give it a go against anyone has been righty so praised by many, but the clubs form has started to dip over the past month and have found themselves conceding far too many goals and it’s that defence which Rangnick will look to exploit on Wednesday night.

Going forward Brentford can cause United problems but defensively they are there to be got at and if Ronaldo, Fernandes and co can turn up and play to their potential like we know they can then United should have too much for Brentford and be leaving the Brentford Community Stadium with all three points.

It’s a game United dare not lose if they are to finish in the top four places this season and it’s a game which I do think United will win albeit I think it will be a very close affair.

Prediction: Brentford 1-2 Manchester United
