Manchester United loanee Facundo Pellistri could return to Old Trafford sooner than planned.
That is according to Spanish outlet Noticias de Alava, who claim Deportivo Alaves are looking to terminate the player’s loan deal.
The Uruguayan winger was brought back to the Alaves by Javier Calleja, whose sacking in December raised doubts over Pellistri’s future.
This potentially opens the door for Pellistri to do what Axel Tuanzebe did when it became clear the defender would not get sufficient game after Aston Villa appointed Steven Gerrard.
Pellistri has only started seven games for the La Liga outfit this season and he no longer appears to be in the frame for a starting role in the team.
It will be a worry for United, that — after two loan spells at Alaves — Pellistri has failed to make an impact.
Perhaps it’s time to consider moving the young winger to a club in the Championship for the remainder of the season?
United should do the same with Amad.
