Manchester United aware of Andreas Pereira’s transfer wish

Andreas Pereira has already gone public to reveal that he will ‘do everything’ to force a transfer to Flamengo when his loan deal ends.

The Manchester United midfielder joined the Brazilian side on loan in August and he has got to experience what it’s like to be a first team regular, making 20+ appearances for Flamengo this season.

Despite being sent on a number of loan spells in recent years, Pereira has been unable to settle anywhere, but it looks like he has found a home in Brazil that will also place him closer to the national team.

During an interview with ESPN Brazil, Pereira said: “My desire has always been to stay here at Flamengo, and now we are going to do everything.

“We are going to talk to President Landim and Marcos Brazto make this possible. Of course, I have a feeling that I owe the fans a title.

“As I told them, you can count on me, I’ll do my best so that next year we can come out with those titles there.”

Ralf Rangnick has already made comments about how the squad is big, so it wouldn’t surprise us if he looked to cash in on the Brazil international this winter.

SN’s verdict

I don’t think any Manchester United fan will lose sleep over Pereira joining another club.

He came through the academy as a fine prospect but never kicked on when handed opportunities in the first team.

Pereira won’t reflect too kindly on his time under Louis van Gaal, but he got chances under Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, though fans were never under the impression that he was cutting the mustard.

Hopefully a deal can be done between Flamengo and United.
