Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino is being heavily linked with the managerial position at Manchester United, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s long-term successor. We really don’t think his response to a question about his commitment to PSG will help squash the “rumours” he refers to…
The Argentine coach was obviously going to get questioned on the United links after PSG’s 2-1 defeat against Man City at the Etihad.
Pochettino was in Manchester, but not for formal talks with the Reds.
At Tuesday’s press conference, Pochettino said he was happy in Paris but we know from his time at Tottenham that he’s usually well-versed when it comes to media pressure.
“I’m happy in Paris,” he told RMC Sport, via Sport Witness. “I know all this well, all my life as a player or manager, I’ve lived this type of situation. Things are happening, it’s not my responsibility. What I’m going to tell you, if you ask me, I’m happy in Paris.”
Tonight he would’ve expected more of the same.

I laughed earlier when we reported how Rudi Garcia said he doesn’t usually hear rumours about his career.
Does the former Lyon boss know what he could potentially walk into?
*He didn’t exactly rule himself out of the interim job*
Pochettino was asked if he had made his commitment to PSG clear to his team, amid claims that he would join United in a heartbeat.
“The players know very well our situation,” the PSG manager said (via Rob Harris on Twitter), downplaying the need for any explanation (odd)…
“They know their situation. We are living in a business where rumours are there.”
Pochettino asked if he's told his players he's committed to PSG doesn't make it sound it at all.

These feel like more than mere rumours right now, and I don’t think Pochettino gives a clear answer — leaving it open to interpretation, so we’ll go into another day after what I can only describe as a cryptic message from the man in charge at PSG.
On that note, has anyone ever heard Pochettino squash a rumour before?
Bingo! Football Espana ran a report earlier this year, citing an interview he’d done with RAC1, totally ruling out the possibility of managing Barcelona.
Pochettino is giving a different kind of response here, eh?
