Manchester United call emergency meeting to discuss Solskjaer’s future

Manchester United have called an emergency meeting to discuss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s position in charge of the club, according to reports. The decision comes following United’s embarrassing 4-1 defeat to Watford on Saturday afternoon.

That’s according to The Times, who claim that the virtual board meeting will take place at 7 pm with Solskjaer’s compensation terms on the agenda.

Manchester United have won just one of their last seven Premier League games, which has left Solskjaer fighting for his job in his third full season.

Furthermore, as per the report, the Glazer family have instructed club officials to accelerate attempts to persuade Zinedine Zidane – a clear push for the Frenchman to replace Solskjaer.

SN’s verdict on the latest reports surrounding Solskjaer’s future…
Unfortunately, we’ve reached a point where defending Solskjaer over United’s form is nearly impossible and the latest reports reflect just that. The Norwegian manager remains a hero among the club’s support but his reign has, in truth, become untenable.

The latest news point towards an inevitable sacking – an unfortunate development after last season’s improvement. Towards the tail-end of the last campaign, there was a feeling of real unity but that feeling is completely gone.
